Kiwi Park to Donate A Day's Proceeds to Local Boy Battling Cancer
Kiwi Park is inviting the community to come together on Sunday 16 August for A Day for Dylan, with all proceeds taken at Kiwi Park on the day being donated to support Queenstown local four-year-old Dylan and his family as they navigate his battle with relapsed Stage 4 neuroblastoma.
Diagnosed just days before his third birthday in January 2024, Dylan underwent 16 months of intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy. After completing treatment and returning to school, his family hoped the worst was behind them. Sadly, in May this year, Dylan's cancer returned.
Relapsed neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer with limited treatment options available in New Zealand. Dylan has now begun treatment again while his family explores specialist overseas care and potential clinical trials.
"As a family-owned business, supporting our community is just so important to us, and Dylan’s story is incredibly close to our hearts," says Richard Wilson, General Manager at Kiwi Park. "When we heard Dylan's story, we knew we wanted to do something meaningful to help. We hope the community will join us for a great day out while helping give Dylan and his family the support they need."
Kiwi Park will be open as usual from 9:30am to 5:00pm, with every admission directly contributing to Dylan's fundraising efforts.
Annual pass holders who would also like to support the cause are welcome to donate at the park via donation boxes or a Givealittle QR code available at reception.
