Youths suspected of stealing vehicle

Police are appealing for dashcam footage after two youths were picked up for dishonesty and driving related offences between Queenstown and Cromwell.
The youths, who were taken into custody on Sunday, 13 August, have been referred to Youth Services in relation to the offending, which includes theft from a vehicle and a vehicle theft.
Cromwell Police Sergeant Regan Price says: "Police would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity or anyone who has dash cam / CCTV footage relating to the offending that occurred between 11 and 13 August.
"This is a timely reminder to carry out a few prevention activities to help prevent vehicles from being broken into and/or stolen."
Prevention measures include:
- Always lock your car, motorbike, or other vehicles
- Ideally keep all vehicles in a garage or out of sight, if you do have to leave vehicles on the street, ensure they are left in a well-lit area
- Keep valuables out of sight – If it can be seen, it can be a target
- Keep receipts, warranties, valuations and serial numbers in a safe place
If you have any information, please call Police on 105 and reference file number 230812/4631.

The Eagle helicopter was sent to the area after police were contacted about a group breaking into vehicles about 3.45am on Wednesday.
Counties Manukau East area prevention manager Inspector Rakana Cook said two vehicles were seen travelling in tandem.
"One of these vehicles came to a stop in Ōtara after spikes were successfully deployed on Ti Rakau Drive, and five youths were arrested by police.
"Eagle has continued to observe the movements of the second vehicle as it travelled around the Howick and Whitford area."
Spikes were used on the Panmure Bridge and one person was later taken into custody on the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway.
All six will be referred to Youth Aid.
