The Wao Summit returns to Queenstown and Wānaka this month with masterclasses, kōrero, tours and a community festival, from 29 October - 2 November.

The Wao Summit aims to bring deeper meaning and purpose to business and everyday life. The tours and masterclass sessions will set you on a pathway to action, helping you lead with purpose, and be part of the transformation towards a thriving future.

For Business:

How we do business is changing. Is your business prepared?

Wao Summit Better Business sessions offer business leaders and owners a unique opportunity to revolutionise their approach to business by learning how to operate with greater purpose and sustainability. The day is set to explore new sustainable practices that not only enhance profitability but also contribute positively to the environment and society. This is the new normal, and expectation. It’s about business with purpose and this is your opportunity to get up to speed.

The masterclasses will provide meaningful growth through expert panel discussions and networking sessions enabling participants to implement new strategies from the moment they walk out the door. Sessions will be to the point and drive action now.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Monique Kelly - Wao & Revology
  • Tim Jones - The bCorp Guy
  • Nick Baty - Bastion Security Group
  • Dr Carly Green - Environmental Accounting Services

For Wānaka, a Better Business Pass at $80 receives access to all five sessions across the day, while single session tickets are available for the Queenstown.

Better Business Day Wānaka: Wednesday, 30 October, at the Lake Wānaka Centre.

Better Business Queenstown: Thursday, 31 October, at the Te Atamira.

Building and Construction:

How do we build better?

While New Zealand aims for a construction sector with positive sustainable behaviours such as low-carbon practices, waste reduction techniques, and resilient and climate smart material use, the truth is that the country is behind many other comparable nations.

For the first time the Wao Summit is dedicating an entire day in Queenstown and Wānaka to the building sector. The full day programme is for building industry professionals and will focus on innovative approaches to sustainable construction and design.
Gain insights into the latest developments and technologies for better building, network with leaders in the field, and learn how to integrate these practices into your own projects.

Key Sessions include:

  • Building for the Future
  • NZGBC Homestar Masterclass
  • Integrated Design & Materials Circularity
  • Toolbox Talks: Onsite Management

Wao has created a building pass especially for the Wānaka day that allows pass holders to attend a whole day of sessions and includes a catered lunch and evening building banter session. BETTER BUILDING PASS $90 + bf
