Volunteer Engagement Workshop coming to Queenstown
Volunteer South invites anyone involved in recruiting volunteers to join them in February for their Volunteer Engagement workshop. The workshop is being offered to strengthen and support local sports and community groups that involve volunteers in the area.
Aimed at both those considering setting up a volunteer programme and those already involved in an existing one - anyone with responsibility for volunteers is encouraged to attend to ensure they are getting the basics right and are working towards best practice when engaging with their volunteers.
The workshop is being facilitated by staff from Volunteer South and the team are thrilled to bring the workshop back to Queenstown.
“Much of the work in our communities is around supporting volunteer involving organisations to strengthen their volunteer programme. From advice around recruitment and screening, to how to give their volunteers a great experience where they feel really valued.”
The workshop will give participants the opportunity to connect with each other, and will help organisations reflect on what they are doing well and what areas might need improving.
"Participants will leave with a great understanding of engaging with volunteers, a library of resources as well as clear actions for their volunteer program” says Neha Gosalia, Volunteer South’s Community Connector for the Central Lakes.
Neha will be facilitating the workshop with colleagues from the Volunteer South Dunedin office, and between them they bring a wealth of experience.
“We’re passionate about supporting volunteer leadership in organisations in our communities and can’t wait to delve deeper into best practices with those working or volunteering as volunteer managers in Queenstown and the surrounding areas.” says Neha.
The workshop will take place on February 16th at Hato Hone St John, 10 Douglas Street, Frankton, Queenstown. 1030am - 2.30pm. $45 + GST for non-profit organisations. For more information and to register please contact Neha Gosalia neha@volunteersouth.org.nz or 027 506 5705
