South Island Tourism operator RealNZ are hoping to inspire more children in nature as they honour an important milestone for the company’s matriarch.

One of RealNZ’s founders, Olive, Lady Hutchins, celebrates her 99th birthday this 7 June – and the company is bringing back a much-loved initiative to pay tribute.

Kids Go Free was created so more young people could be inspired by spending time outdoors, experiencing the South Island’s stunning natural wonders. For Olive’s birthday weekend, every adult who travels on RealNZ experiences will be able to bring two children under 18 with them for free – adventuring in Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, at Walter Peak in Queenstown, and more.

“Our founders, Les and Olive, were passionate about sharing the outdoors with others, so in turn they were inspired to protect it,” says RealNZ CEO, Dave Beeche.

“We’re excited to be able to offer this opportunity for more children to have their turn of being wowed by our incredible backyard – they are the next generation of conservationists who will become kaitiaki of these special places.”

Kids Go Free is available on select RealNZ experiences for the weekend of 7-9 June. You can find out more information and book at www.realnz.com/en/specials
