QLDC Council Mayor John Glover

Queenstown Lakes District Mayor John Glover is calling on suitably qualified and passionate members of the community to come forward and apply for one of the three seats on Council’s newly re-constituted Risk and Assurance Committee that are to be filled by independent members of the public.

John explained, “we are particularly interested in hearing from those who have expertise within a local government context of financial auditing and risk management, infrastructure procurement and project management or understanding and enabling effective governance.”

He added, “during the election campaign last year, we heard many suggestions about what Council could do better, and spending, infrastructure and Councillor oversight were often mentioned. I would love to think that there are locals who are able to help us improve and I look forward to seeing some applications come in from our community.”

More information is available via the Council’s website at https://www.qldc.govt.nz/media/4exp01pr/person-specification-risk-assurance.pdf

Applications close on Sunday, 1 February and should be sent for the attention of: Katherine Harbrow, General Manager Assurance, Risk & Finance, Queenstown Lakes District Council, Private Bag 50072, Queenstown; or via email to katherine.harbrow@qldc.govt.nz
