Power out in Kelvin Heights

Update 8.40pm: Power restored to all but five properties.

More than 500 homes in Kelvin Heights are without power tonight, with the temperature a -1°.

It appears a power pole has been damaged near the golf course, around 3.30pm.

Aurora is working to repair the pole but it could be at least 8pm before power is restored to the upmarket Queenstown suburb.

Streets affected are Balmoral Drive, Bay View Road, Cedar Drive, Cypress Court, Elizabeth Place, Elk Place, Four Views Avenue, Garland Terrace, Grove Lane, Holly Court, Kelvin Place, Larch Court, Lewis Road, Milward Place, Mincher Road, Oregon Drive, Peninsula Road, Poplar Drive, Red Deer Rise, Redwood Court, Sequoia Place, Spring Hill Road, White Stag Rise.
