Police searching for missing woman Suzanne Frew have located a body on Highview Terrace, Queenstown.

The discovery was made at around 8.30am this morning, following an extensive search and rescue effort.

"While formal identification is yet to be completed, Police understand this to be the woman reported missing in Queenstown on Monday," a police spokesperson says.

"Our thoughts are with her whanau and friends at this difficult time."

The matter is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the Coroner.

"Police would like to thank our search and rescue volunteers and members of the public that assisted with the search effort."

Yesterday afternoon, officers had found her car parked on Highview Terrace, a suburban road below Queenstown Hill, running parallel to Frankton Road.

Police asked residents to check their properties, outbuildings and any CCTV they had.
