Otago Regional Council is refreshing its approach to managing air quality
Let’s talk air, While Otago’s air quality has improved over the past 20 years, ORC’s science shows the need to do more.
Monitoring and research shows that the main culprit for air pollution in Otago is home heating from solid fuel burners. Other sources include outdoor burning, vehicle and industrial emissions, dust, odour and agricultural spraying.
ORC has identified potential approaches to manage air quality and would like to hear what you think.
Come to the Arrowtown drop-in session, or join an online session, and share your thoughts. Your feedback will influence how ORC manages air quality into the future.
There’s also an online form for submitting feedback and details about home heating and burning habits. Let’s ensure we can all continue to enjoy clean, healthy air — us and the generations after.
