A sky-high celebration awaits Queenstown this October as NZONE Skydive turns 35!

NZONE Skydive is celebrating its 35th anniversary as the country’s first commercial tandem skydiving operator and a cornerstone of New Zealand’s adventure tourism industry.

Founded in October 1990 by trailblazers Robynne and Lindsay Williams, NZONE began with just three team members and a paddock as their launchpad—at Jardine’s Farm, pioneering an activity that was entirely new to New Zealand.

In 2015 NZONE was acquired by Experience Co, one of Australia and New Zealand's leading adventure tourism operators and now forms part of one of the world's largest Skydive groups.

Fast forward to 2025 and NZONE, now recognised as a world-class skydive destination, has notched up over 460,000 tandem skydives from up to 15,000ft with guests experiencing breathtaking views as they glide into the dropzone at the foot of The Remarkables in Queenstown.

Also recognised internationally for its world-class adventure experiences, NZONE was recently named New Zealand’s most-booked tour and attraction by C-Trip, China’s largest online travel platform.

General Manager of Skydive for Experience Co, Ken Stone said “What started as a small business in a paddock now employs over 65 people and has become a world-renowned magnet for thrill-seekers “embracing their fear” and earning legendary status among adventurous travellers.”

“This milestone is a tribute to the founders, pioneering staff, long-serving team members, and local partners who helped make Queenstown a global destination for adventure tourism. Celebrating 35 years means honouring not only our founders but also the locals and partners whose belief transformed a bold idea into a world-renowned experience.”

To mark the anniversary, NZONE Skydive is literally “giving back” with a special anniversary giveaway: five lucky skydivers will get their experience for free. To be eligible, adventurers simply book a tandem skydive between Monday 27 and Thursday 30 October and will be automatically entered into the draw to “Win Your Skydive Back.”
