Jump For Cancer – Make A Difference
By Jonet Warhurst I Marketing and Fundraising Manager – Otago and Southland Division.
The Cancer Society invites courageous people to ‘Jump for Cancer’ to support the 1 in 3 people impacted by cancer. The skydive fundraiser will happen at Skydive Wanaka on Saturday, 27 May and at NZONE Skydive Queenstown on Sunday, 28 May where Cancer Society staff will be cheering on the brave jumpers. Skydivers can also arrange another time in May if these jump days do not suit.
Cancer Society Otago and Southland chief executive Rachael Hart “encourages people to ‘Jump For Cancer’ after she faced her fear of heights and jumped out of a plane this year to acknowledge people struggling with cancer who don’t get to choose their situation.”
This ultimate adrenaline fundraiser will offer an unforgettable experience. Fundraisers who raise a minimum of $1,000 will get to take the plunge for free. The money raised will support people with cancer and programmes to help prevent cancer.
You can sign up as a team, such as a workplace or an individual. Regardless, each person must raise $1000 or more to qualify for a free jump.
The Cancer Society has witnessed so much pain and anxiety watching patients go through their cancer journey. They would like to challenge businesses and individuals to take the plunge so we can all make a difference.
The Cancer Society challenges people to sign up, raise money, and jump for free.
