First sections for Kingston expansion
The developer behind the massive expansion of Kingston has announced its first 25 sections will come to the market in early autumn 2025.
Priced from $299,000, they will range in size from 360sqm to 1000sqm.
Kingston Village Limited (KVL) has been granted consent for 217 sections in stage one of its development within the Kingston Village Special Zone.
The zoning allows for approximately 750 new homes.
Infrastructure delivery is underway with the Queenstown Lakes District Council implementing infrastructure works in the existing Kingston township towards the KVL boundary, currently installing a bulk water supply main along Kent Street.
KVL proposes to start construction in autumn 2025 after completing landscaping along State Highway 6 by Christmas.
Extensive research into the history of Kingston was undertaken when developing the plans for the site. It shows that back in the goldrush era the township was a busy shipping centre which at its height was reputed to have had ten hotels, two banks, a police station, butcher’s shop and several stores.
“While we’re unable to promise ten hotels, our goal is for the existing township to flourish and grow alongside the new, with full access to all the services Kingston Village will offer including provision for a new primary school, a commercial centre, new parks and playing fields,” Kingston Village General Manager Dale Farnham says.
Farnham says there will be multiple connection points between Kingston Village and the existing township and lakefront including pathways, cycleways and green spaces to integrate the two.
“Our vision is to create a community where everyone can enjoy a lakeside lifestyle without compromising on space or affordability,” Kingston Village local Senior Development Manager Nicola Tristram says.
Potential buyers can discover more and register their interest on www.kingstonvillage.co.nz which goes live on Monday, 23 December.
