Queenstown's Marco Dingemans has been named a finalist for 'Pilates Method Teacher of the Year' at the 2024 Exercise NZ Awards.

Dingemans is owner and principal teacher of Contrology Gymnasium in Arrowtown, the only Pilates studio in Otago committed to teaching the Pilates Method in its original form, as envisioned by its founder, Joseph Pilates.

Dingemans' journey in Pilates began with rigorous training at a Pi Studios in London, followed by further education with Authentic Pilates Education International in Auckland and Sydney, totalling 800 hours of training.

He also serves as a founding board member of Pilates Aotearoa, the industry body representing Pilates in New Zealand, and co-founded 'Teach Pilates', a classical teacher training program.

Winners for The Exercise NZ Awards 2024 will be announced on 30 November.
