Life Education is running a Digital Detox Fundraiser this weekend, encouraging kids to take a break from their devices and help raise funds to continue Life Education in our region.

Sarah Fredric, Executive Officer Life Education Trust Heartland Otago Southland, says: "As we subsidise the costs of Life Education to schools, but receive no government funding, we need to fundraise to ensure that we can continue to support young people to make positive choices when it comes to their health and wellbeing.

"Today, young people growing up in Aotearoa face many challenges. We monitor societal trends and develop our teaching content accordingly to support the changing environment and challenges that children face."

The Digital Detox Fundraiser challenges kids to play device free for 40 hours this weekend, while raising funds.

"We have some awesome spot prizes from Harold for participants, and our fundraising website (I do see the irony here) has some great tips for how to keep entertained without digital devices.

"Whilst some kids might want to completely remove all digital devices for the 40 hours, others might want to have no TV, no phones or no gaming. It's up to the participant!"

Kids (and their parents) can sign up at www.lifeed.raiselysite.com or find more information on the Facebook page.
