Cyclist hit by car near Queenstown
A cyclist has been seriously injured after being hit by a car near Queenstown.
Emergency services were called to the crash on State Highway 6 near Coal Pit Road at Gibbston about 12.30pm.
Police confirmed the crash was between a car and a bicycle.
St John said one person in a serious condition has been airlifted to Dunedin Hospital after an ambulance, helicopter and an operations manager were sent.
The Transport Agency said the highway has been cleared and traffic was flowing again.
