Queenstown Medical Centre has announced it will relocate its Arrowtown clinic to a larger, new purpose-built facility at Remarkables Park later this year.

The existing Arrowtown clinic on Berkshire Street will close in mid-September, at the same time the new clinic opens.

QMC's CEO Ashley Light says the new Remarkables Park clinic, which is currently being fitted out at Level 2, 12 Hawthorne Drive next door to the existing practice, will be a larger space comprising nine consulting rooms and modern facilities, and have better parking and accessibility for both staff and patients.

“Patient care is our top priority, and we believe developing the new, larger medical centre will vastly improve the patient experience and outcomes. All patients will receive ongoing high-quality, timely care in purpose-built, modern facilities,” Light explains.

“The new Remarkables Park clinic will provide QMC’s comprehensive healthcare services in one easily accessible, central location.”

All Arrowtown staff will be deployed to the QMC Remarkables Park clinic when it opens in September.

“The new facility at Remarkables Park offers an improved working environment for clinicians, with more accessible collaboration and shared workloads. This is critical in achieving clinical excellence and therefore better patient care,” Light adds.

Arrowtown patients have been notified by email and QMC will provide support to its elderly patients in familiarising themselves with the Manage My Health app, which allows patients to book appointments and receive prescriptions as well as directly message their preferred clinician.

“The high standard of care for Arrowtown patients will not change, and as with every enrolled QMC patient, they still benefit from the same excellent appointment availability, often with short wait times. They will still be able to be seen by their known, preferred healthcare provider – as well as a team of other clinicians – at the one convenient location, just a short drive from Arrowtown at Remarkables Park, with safer, more accessible parking and a bus stop right outside.”

Urgent and after-hours care will continue to be available at the the longstanding Isle Street clinic, which offers the only 365-days-a-year urgent care in the district. Isle St also offers immigration medicals, travel medicine and sexual health appointments, and facilitates access to radiology and ultrasound, pharmacy, and physiotherapy. The Jack's Point practice will continue to operate as normal.
