Construction of 42 private residences is about to start soon alongside the $80million Glendhu Championship Golf Couse development, near Wanaka, now well into construction and set to open late next year.

Now that construction works are largely complete on the subdivision, work on the residences can begin, Darby Partners developer John Darby says.

Darby Partners, renowned for other local high-profile golf courses locally like Jack’s Point, The Hills and Millbrook, is also about to begin construction of the development’s upmarket restaurant straight after winter too.  A golf clubhouse and visitor accommodation – 24 rooms in a series of configurations ranging from one to three bedrooms, will also be developed on the lakefront.

There’s been “very strong interest” in all aspects of the project, which is rapidly taking shape, with the new golf course covering 100ha, and more than 6000m in length. The stunning new course with expansive lake and mountain views will be ready for golfers to tee off late next year, after an 18-month construction period.

The Glendhu course has been a 15-year project for Darby Partners with the first land use consent granted by the Queenstown Lakes District Council in 2008.
