Suggestion To Fergburger
January 25 2016
Once again, I passed Fergburger recently which had a queue back to The London and a row of people blocking the pedestrian pathway while leaning on the railing awaiting their order. I find it very hard to believe that in this day and age there isn’t a better ordering and processing system that Fergburger could implement to help improve things – both for their customers and the poor pedestrians that still can’t get past despite the car park takeover last year.
Pretty much everyone has a smart phone these days so they could surely just provide free wifi or have an ordering system online that then tells the customer when to pick up their order – much like Dominos do. Alternatively ‘The Fluffer’ could take their order electronically like they do in McD’s now and then simply tell the customer when to come back. Customers could then go enjoy themselves or have a stroll around the town rather than queuing for 30 mins just to order.
As a local I used to be proud of Fergburger and what a success story it is however now I can’t help but get annoyed whenever I go past. I recently saw The Fluffer making sure the pathway to Ferg Bakery was clear however no attempt seemed to be being made to clear the pathway for pedestrians – shows where their priorities are!
Come on Fergburger – stop being so greedy and wanting as much business as possible and start looking after your customers and the locals. You have a good reputation so I bet you’ll still be as busy but everyone will be happier!
Response from Fergburger
Keeping the footpath flow outside our businesses, providing technology solutions and managing the madness that is ‘the New Year’s period’ in Queenstown are all things we are continuing to work hard on.
Firstly please note we have invested in technology to allow people to track their orders. Our customers can visit www.ferglovesyou.co.nz on their smart phone (no app needed) and track their burger. During the summer we encourage people to take a stroll or go shopping while they wait and in the winter we suggest going to a nearby pub and have a drink while waiting and tracking their order number.
We will be reminding our front of house team to keep pushing these suggestions. Additionally we will keep trying to improve our customer service to manage our visitors and keep as many people happy as possible.
