Friendly Pleasantries

September 3 2018

Why don’t people greet one another on the streets?

Exchanging pleasantries with passerby’s or strangers is not weird as it is quite common in some parts of New Zealand and that’s how I was raised.

Instead I get weird looks, a blank stare or snotty laughs for my friendly smile or “good morning”. What gives? Queenstown is odd sometimes.

It is part of "city living"....if you intend to stay here for another 5 to 10 years, get used to it....it will become the "norm".....
