Marathon support

November 18 2019

Saturday started out wet and everyone was saturated getting to the buses but then Queenstown really shone and the day turned into perfect running weather. Despite the weather I was once again struck about how stunning the area is and how incredibly lucky we are to live here. Truly stunning scenery and an incredible network of trails that are well constructed and maintained. Well done Queenstown Trails, but the most important call out is the people of Queenstown, from the volunteers who truly are extraordinary with their enthusiasm and support to everyone on the pathways cheering us on. I have to tell you I needed that level of support. 21km is a bloody long way and having people cheering you on is inspirational and what gets you to the end- well it did me!! Once you hit Queenstown Gardens you can see the finish line but with two km to go its that support from the crowd that carries you through. I am sure the visitors who journeyed from all over the country and overseas to complete the event will go away amazed and impressed. Well done Queenstown. You are fantastic and thank you.
